Bob Priesing is a NC Licensed General Contractor and a NC Licensed Home Inspector. Bob is also a Chimney Safety Institute of America (CSIA) Certified Chimney Sweep, and is anNational Fireplace Institute (NFI) Gas and Woodburning Certified Specialist.
He has owned and operated Havelock’s Chimney & Venting, Inc. since 1996. In that time this company has been selected to work on several historic properties, including George Washington’s Distillery at Mount Vernon, VA and the White House, Washington, DC.
Articles Bob has written have appeared in local newspapers and several nationally published magazines, including the Journal of Light Construction and Sweeping magazine.
 Bob teaches a variety of chimney related courses on topics such as inspection standards and techniques, and restoration practices. He teaches a General Contractor pre-licensing course at CravenCommunity College in New Bern, NC. He has also worked as an instructor for the Chimney Safety Institute of America (CSIA), teaching courses such as Chimney Physics and CSIA Certification.
Bob served for twenty years in the US Marine Corps, retiring as a Gunnery Sergeant in August of 1997.
