Douglas Hansen operated a successful home inspection business in Los Altos,
California, from 1980 to 1995. Since retirement from active inspecting, he
has launched a new career as an author, lecturer, and educator. He is the
author of Electrical Inspection of Existing Dwellings - a 200 page illustrated
guide to electrical inspections for home inspectors. He is the co-author of
the popular Code Check field guides to building codes. He offers classes and
training seminars for commercial electrical facilities, building departments,
and for home inspectors. He serves on the faculty of the College of San Mateo
in Northern California, and also serves on the education committee of the
Southwest Section of the International Association of Electrical Inspectors.
Personal interests include music (jazz and classical), running, travel, and
collecting good friends.
